A unique multimedia event - Ardesco
collaborates with internationally known ink brush painter Sungsook Setton to
tell a story of the search for a meaningful simplicity. Paintings emerge in a
mysterious and engaging multimedia world in counterpoint to music by Beethoven,
Stravinsky, Ligeti, Meyer, Zorn, Yun, Gubidulina, Robison and Walker.
Each of three acts will represent in turn;
spring (emergence), summer-fall (abundance) and winter (purification).
A guide, part visual gesture, part music and musician will lead the audience
and performers on this fascinating journey.
Ardesco
is an innovative chamber music ensemble that performs
original compositions and classics to tell a story in light and sound. It
combines the talents of 6 musicians, a lighting designer as well as a
production and video team. Artistic Director: Benjamin Robison
There will be a reception and exhibit of
Setton’s work at the Spinnato Art Gallery
