Sungsook Hong Setton

Antiquity

Morning Prayer

Kneeling, legs shifted
to one side - she
bows closer to her world.

Painter submerged in ceremony.
Deaf to the song of her wrist

guiding bamboo brush over
white rice paper.

Tailoring Western cities
with strict Korean strokes

she wrings life from them
until they weep, then
steals them with her brush.

I’m pleased to announce two upcoming shows:

One is a solo exhibition at Synergy Arts “Multi-Sensory Triptych,” which will run through the whole month of October. On October 3 I will paint on the scene while the Synergy Chamber Players are performing. I am showing 20 new abstract works of art there. Please note the opening hours.

The Christopher gallery show is a two person show from September 28- October 25, entitled “Sungsook Setton and Jim Molloy” with an opening reception September 28 from 2-5pm. I am showing twenty semi abstract new works. Many works are inspired by my travel in France this year, including a visit a Monet’s garden.
